Although Cyber Monday has passed, Lenovo is running a week-long promo it is calling 'Cyber Week,' and its impressive Chromebook Duet 3 is heavily discounted. It has been more than four years since the first Chrome OS tablet, the Acer Chromebook Tab 10, was launched. However, a lot has happened since then, and this category of devices that didn't get much attention back then can now rival tablets running other operating systems like Android.

Lenovo is one of the leading PC manufacturers and also one of the top brands when it comes to Chromebooks. Its lineup of ChromeOS devices includes both laptops and tablets, and its 2020 Lenovo Chromebook Duet can be said to have helped increase the popularity of Chrome OS tablets.

The Chromebook Duet 3, also known as the IdeaPad Chromebook Duet 3, is a more affordable alternative to the larger Chromebook Duet 5. Announced at Mobile World Congress 2022 in March, it didn't make it to the United States until May, and when it did, it had a starting price of $379. Users got 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for that price. Now for its Cyber Week sales, Lenovo is selling the 4GB RAM + 128GB version for $199, 47 percent off its original price! It's a solid upgrade over the older 2020 Chromebook Duet and is worth considering, especially at this price.

Comes With A Detachable Keyboard & Case

For that price, the Chromebook Duet 3 offers a 10.95-inch IPS touch display with a 2000 × 1200 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The display gets pretty bright at 400 nits, and above it is a 5MP camera for video calls. There is 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but there's no microSD slot for expandable storage. However, two USB-C ports allow the option to plug in removable storage on one side while charging with the other. The ChromeOS tablet can also be hooked up to two external monitors. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor is powering the tablet, designed for entry-level Windows and Chrome OS laptops.

There is a single 8MP rear camera on the back of the Chromebook Duet 3. The tablet also has Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, and stereo speakers. In addition, there is support for USI 2.0 styluses, but one isn't included in the box, so buyers will have to pick a new one that is only sold by Lenovo for now. More USI 2.0 styluses should be available in the future, including from Google, whose upcoming Pixel Tablet will have USI stylus support. Remember that Older USI styluses, like the Logitech Pen and the CTL Stylus, won't work with the new tablet.

What Lenovo includes in the box is a detachable keyboard with a trackpad that connects to the tablet via POGO pins. There is also a folio case with an adjustable kickstand and a 30W power adapter, although the device supports up to 45W fast charging. Lenovo says the battery life goes up to 12 hours, which should be more than enough for a whole day of work, with varying mileage when streaming movies and TV shows. At $199, the Chromebook Duet 3 is a good tablet for work and play and a much cheaper alternative to devices like the iPad 10 and its accessory ecosystem.
