Android Nougat Coming To Sony Xperia X: In-Depth Review

The Sony Xperia X Performance revives its Beta program for the pre-release version of Android 7.0 Nougat.

In an attempt to regain its status as one of the strongest forces of the smartphone industry, it is timely that Sony will bring back the Beta program from its silence and inactivity last month, this time in a refined state, just as Android 7.0 Nougat’s arrival is nearing.

The International Business Times reported that in the past, the Beta Program was only available to the Xperia Z3, Z5 and other Z ranges. But now, it is going to be initially released on the Xperia X Performance before being rolled out to other Xperia X handsets.

However, not everyone is privileged to test the Android Nougat for the Xperia X Performance as the Xperia Beta program app is only available on European countries, according to Phone Arena.  Xperia X Performance users in the Netherlands, Finland, Demark, Italy, Sweden, Lithuania, Estonia, Spain, Latvia, Iceland and Portugal would be the lucky users who would get to test drive the latest Android OS.

In the same report, it is noted that one should not expect outstanding performance nor advanced Android Nougat features since the mobile OS' capabilities are limited on the beta rollout. Aside from the great advantage of the said program allowing Xperia X Performance phones to test drive Android Nougat, it will also bridge communications between the device’s developers and users.

In this way, whatever challenges or problems that users would encounter during the process, Sony would be able to address them and enhance the commercial version of Android Nougat as soon as it is officially released.

Sony’s latest flagship boasts a 5-inch 1080p display, a 23-megapixel camera, Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM and dual front-facing speakers.

Xperia fans are hoping that the new beta program, along with the Xperia X Performance and Android Nougat teamup, will make an amazing team in delivering an exemplary show in the world of mobile technology.
