MADRID, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- The Mobile World Congress 2016 kicked off on Monday showcasing the most advanced technologies in the world of mobile phones.
Spanish Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism Miguel Soria inaugurated the congress which is held in the city of Barcelona for the next four days with participation from 2,100 companies from all over the world.
The congress will generate around 460 million euros (USD 509.83 million) and offers around 13,000 temporary business functions.
The most renowned mobile phone companies will launch their new smart phones such as Samsung, Huawei, HTC, Sony and LG.
On the sidelines of the conference, new applications that will facilitate people's daily lives in several fields will be introduced.
With regard to computers, Microsoft will present its latest products and also will reveal new developments in the field of internet.
Several Arab countries including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria will participate in the congress. (end) hnd.ss
